Walk & Talk Therapy
Therapy in a natural setting
Walk & Talk therapy takes the session outside — onto Calgary's pathways and parks. For many people, moving their body while talking makes it easier to open up. The side-by-side dynamic can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, and being in a natural environment has its own grounding effect.
Research supports the benefits of combining movement and nature with therapeutic conversation. It's not a replacement for traditional therapy — it's a different format that works particularly well for some people and some topics.
Walk & Talk sessions use the same evidence-based approaches, work toward the same goals, and hold the same confidentiality as in-person or virtual sessions. The setting is simply different.
