What couples sessions look like
My couples work is informed by the Gottman Method — a research-based approach that focuses on understanding conflict patterns, building friendship and trust, and developing practical communication skills. Sessions are 75 minutes, giving us enough time to actually get somewhere.
I work with both of you, not for one of you. The goal is to help you understand each other's patterns, reduce the intensity of conflict, rebuild emotional connection, and develop skills you can use outside of sessions.
Couples therapy isn't only for relationships in crisis. Some of the most meaningful work happens when things are generally okay but you want them to be better — or when you're navigating a significant life transition together.
